Owen Leather goods are crafted in north London by leatherworker Harry Owen. All cutting, burnishing and stitching is done entirely by hand.
This year at LDF Harry will be showing a variety of new bags, small goods and belts. This work embraces the needs of contemporary lifestyles, designed for now, with the enduring qualities of classic luggage. Vegetable tanned leathers and uncomplicated forms draw attention to fine detailing, a high level of craftsmanship and the natural beauty of the materials.
Harry’s obsession with leather articles comes from the seductive quality of the material, and a fascination with objects we carry with us. Leather ages and reacts to its changing environment, becoming intertwined with the personal narrative of the user. Durable leather goods facilitate long and meaningful user object relationships, slow down consumption and foster a deeper connection between user and maker.
