Blue Patch.org the showcase for sustainable, local and heritage brands from the British Isles and beyond.
A new ‘green’ vanguard of talented designers, weavers, heritage manufacturers, solar engineers, growers, milliners, candle makers, artists and more are staking their claim on internet shopping by becoming members of Blue Patch, an ’ethical meets local’ online showcase and B2B network.
Blue Patch offers a new way to shop with its colourful online directory of sustainably and lovingly crafted products and services from the British Isles and beyond. From locally produced fashion to hand-made designer furniture, artisan bread to organic beauty products, each carefully selected business has committed to improving their sustainability and delivering goods and services of the highest quality.
Blue Patch was born out of a quietly radical desire to foster positive change in the goods and services industry. It offers customers the opportunity to buy from celebrated businesses who are independent, responsible and ethical, whether that’s by using local fruit and veg in their products, raw materials from sustainable sources, or renewable energy to power their workshops.
By cultivating a spirit of collaboration amongst its member businesses, Blue Patch uniquely provides a platform for them to work as a community, sharing expertise and offering job opportunities, training courses and apprenticeships that are open to all. As a social business, 100 percent of Blue Patch’s profits will go back into doing good by investing in renewable energy companies and local community, education and conservation programmes.
Where did the name come from? On a gloomy grey day 3 years ago, a sudden break in the cloud revealed a radiant patch of sky and the surge of joy was expressive of Blue Patch’s mission - it was a perfect moment.
