Best Stand 2018
A celebration of collaboration, our inaugural Best Stand accolade has been awarded to a stand that, through combined efforts from an array of partners, sponsors and funding bodies,
was able to come into existence in spectacular fashion. Awarded to Form Design Center, who realised the Swedish Design Pavilion
, through a smart collaborative approach to a country
Using a 50% funded financing model provided an affordable opportunity for small designers and brands to participate, often for the first time in the UK.
Commissioned by Form Design Center
, architect Karin Sandberg crafted a bold display for Swedish design. Working with Swedish Wood
, the pavilion moved visitors away from preconceptions
of Scandinavian design, regarded as quiet and parred back, the pavilion showcased the material in a bright coral tone; a beacon of colour to display the work of the 13 selected designers.
Unifying the pieces, the injection of colour covered both interior and exterior, a consistent canvas for the lighting, furniture and accessories being showcased. Putting the final touches to the design,
lighting brand Ateljé Lyktan placed a spotlight on the pieces.
And finally, the Swedish Embassy
ensured the pavilion received a well deserved celebration by hosting a reception in the space.

"The London Design Fair was a big success for us! We got an amazing response from both the public, retail and contract market.
We now have new retailers in London, Germany and France who placed orders directly at the Fair. And it continues, we are already getting requests from more retailers and architects." Mara Gustavsson, Swedish Ninja
"Working with London Design Fair has been a true pleasure! The Fair has an independent and entrepreneurial spirit which allowed for a very personal and committed collaboration.
London Design Fair served as a great platform for 13 southern Swedish design companies to showcase their work in the successful 2018 edition of the Swedish Design Pavilion,
organised by Form/Design Center through Southern Sweden Creatives in partnership with Swedish Wood. We’re looking forward to a continued collaboration with the London Design Fair!” Terese Alstin, Form Design Centre, Sweden
"Partnering on the Swedish Design Pavilion was a great opportunity for Swedish Wood to work with architect Karin Sundberg who designed the Pavilion,
made from Swedish Pine, stunningly stained in translucent pink! And with the many Swedish Interior Designers who exhibited, and to simultaneously break down preconceptions
of how wood can be used and finished. The hugely creative trade audience at the London Design Fair really engaged in the pavilion which for us was a great opportunity deliver one of our aims; to
extend the use of wood in architecture and interiors." Tony Traynor, Swedish Wood

Special Mention: Cameron Design House x Geronimo
This year’s 'special mention' goes to London-based designers Cameron Design House and Los Angeles-based artist Geronimo’s multi-sensory installation hosted in the Fairs gallery
space on Dray Walk.
Visually spectacular, the installation used colour, light and texture to create an all consuming environment constructed from chandeliers and latex covered surfaces, making for an
incredibly immersive visitor experience.
