This year the Italian Loft took centre stage at the London Design Fair showcasing 8 leading brands from across Italy

A mix of lighting, furniture, bathroom, kitchen and textile brands, the designs came together to present an exceptional loft experience reflective of the Fair’s location in ex-industrial Shoreditch, East London. 

In case you missed it, we reflect on the 8 leading brands that formed the Fair's first Italian Loft.

Part of the Altaeco group, Ceramica Bardelli has over the last 50 years, established itself as one of the leading producers of ceramic tiles. A display of exceptional Italian craftsmanship, each design is characterised by deep colours and intricate handmade elements demonstrating the brands technical ability and aesthetic flare.

Founded in 2006 Alterego specialise in the production of sofas, armchairs and beds, with each piece manufactured from quality materials by skilled craftspeople. Specialising in upholstered pieces, each design is made in Italy boasting this internationally recognised stamp of high quality.

Leading bathroom brand Ceramica Globo are focused on manufacturing functional and innovative bathroom products with a strong focus on environmental sustainability. Looking to the future, the brand is constantly adapting their material use and product engineering to remain innovators in the industry.

Floema designs and manufactures high-performance soundproofing acoustic panels, officially patented and designed for environments where the sound comfort is extremely important, from large spaces and offices to residential spaces.

Award-winning company Foresti & Suardi was founded over 50 years ago in Predore. Famed leaders in the nautical lighting industry, the brand has recently branched out, applying their knowledge and craftsmanship to a range of lighting for the residential market.

Launched by textile industry leaders Giovanardi, Raytent is a self proclaimed "green economy" project based on the recycling of acrylic fabric deriving from the awning industry. Raytent is manufactured from 50% recycled fibre, in a process that uses less water and chemicals, emits less CO2 and extends the use of natural resources.

Maiullari SRL have produced custom-made kitchens since the 1960s. Founded by brothers Angelo, Antonio and Giuseppe, the trio opened a small workshop in Altamura manufacturing kitchens and house furniture in the heart of the Apulian Murgia plateau. Having maintained the same passion over 60 years later Maiullari has expanded globally whilst staying true to their artisanal roots.
