Plastic, Beyond the Chipper Exhibition Design

Having unveiled plastic as Material of the Year back in June we can now reveal for the first time, this year's exhibition design using Movisi's Link System, commissioned by the Fair back in 2007.

The Material of the Year feature exhibition places the spotlight on a material currently holding precedence in the design world. Not one to shy away from a conversation, for 2018 the focus will be on this year’s most loathed material: plastic.

A response to research into the reuse of plastics within the design industry Plastic, Beyond the Chipper looks beyond the brash and bright examples and presents four designers who are treating gathered plastic waste as a 'virgin material', imbuing the material with new worth and meaning, a longterm solution to the single-use plastic issue.

Movisi's Link System Returns to the Fair
Welcoming back Movisi’s modular Link System, commissioned by the Tent London and designed by PearsonLloyd back in 2007, the four designers work will be interspersed within the black Expanded Polypropylene partitions, weaving through the exhibition space. A fitting choice for this year’s Material of the Year, the Link System is 100% recyclable and a rejection of the single-use plastic culture.
